Badrinath is a holy city and a nagar panchayat in Chamoli district in the state of Uttarakhand, India.One of the utmost essential of the four scenes in India’s char dham excursion and get its name from the temple of Badrinath. The adjoining runway is the Jolly Grant Airport near Dehradun which is 317 km (197 mi) away by road. However, the aerial distance by a chopper ride is hardly takes 100 km. There are multiple service providers of helicopter service from Dehradun and Phata you can prefer as per your convenient.

Rishikesh is the nearest railway station which is approximately 297 km distance from Badrinath and Kotdwara (at 327 km distance from Badrinath). However, Rishikesh is a tiny railway station not linked by fast trains. Kotdwara is connected by only few selected trains. Haridwar stationis hardly 24 km away from Rishikesh, has many train connections to most of the big places in India.

Badrinath is affected by national highway NH58 that bridge Delhi with Mana Pass in Uttarakhand near Indo-Tibet border. Buses import pilgrims from New Delhi to Badrinath via Haridwar and Rishikesh in pilgrim season of summer months. Rishikesh is the main origin point for road travelling to Badrinath.

Persistent buses operate from Rishikesh bus station to Badrinath and start very early before day light. The last bus availability from Rishikesh leaves for Badrinath before dawn. The road is precise after Joshimath and travel is not proper on the road after sunset. So if one misses the bus for Badrinath at Rishikesh bus station, one has to go only up to Rudraprayag, Chamoli or Joshimath and spend the night there to take the recent morning bus for Badrinath from that place.
