Consistent up-gradation and modernization of railway stations is like a constant and ever going process. And as of now, up-gradation of railway stations is been taken care of and is under consideration in accord to ‘Adarsh station scheme’. As per the scheme, it has been identified and decided that in total 1253 stations will go under development, amongst which 1022 stations have been constructed and developed so far and remaining will be completed by the fiscal 2017-18. As per the information, there is no separate fund allocated and assigned under ‘Adarsh station scheme’ for the development and modernization of stations. Generally, the expenditure is been funded by the Plan head taking care of the passenger amenities and for the works related to the modernization and development of railway stations and in revised estimate of 2016-17, about 917.91 crore is been allocated as known by the budgetary sources. And this information is been provided by the Minster of State for Railways in a written quest to a concern asked in Lok Sabha on 05th April 2017.
