Overview of Kodigehalli Railway Station

Kodigehalli Railway Station (codenamed KDGH) is one of the suburban stations in the Hebbal region of Bangalore City. The station is near to Yesvantpur Junction and is the halt for over six passenger trains on the Vijayawada- Bangalore railway line. Passenger trains cross Kodigehalli station daily connecting Devanahalli, Hindupur, Vijayawada, and Chik Ballapur stations. The station falls under the administrative control of Bangalore division under South Western Railways Zone of Indian Railways. Kodigehalli Railway Station is located 7 Kilometres from Yesvantpur station, 12 Kilometres from Bangalore City Junction, and 19 Kilometres from Bangalore East station.

Kodigehalli station is the rally point for many passenger trains that commute on this line daily. There are no trains originating from Kodigehalli railway station and no express trains halt at this station. The station registers high passenger inflow for intercity transport, and very soon will be developed to supplement the Yesvantpur station. The nearest railway station is Hebbal Railway station located at 3 Kilometres.

Kodigehalli Railway station is located at 23 Kilometres from the Bangalore International Airport and is well-connected with the intercity buses. The station is well-connected to Bangalore (18 KM), Vijayapura (39 KM), Magadi (42 KM), and other important taluks. The station is near to many tourists’ locations such as Savandurga, Nandi Hills, Shivagange, and Lepakshi.

The station is just a suburban station that connects to the Mysore-Bangalore railway line. With no express train stops at the Kodigehalli station, the key reason for its presence is to provide the residents of the region to commute through passenger trains to nearby cities in a cheap way. There are restrooms on both the platforms, supply of drinking water and waiting room on the first platform, foot over bridge, ticket counter, and prepaid parking facility inside the station.
