Channasandra Railway Station (codenamed CSDR) is located in the suburban region of the Bangalore city. The station falls under the administrative control of Bangalore division under South Western Railways Zone of Indian Railways. Channasandra railway station is located at 3 Kilometres from Baiyyappanahalli station, 6 Kilometres from Bangalore East station, and 14 Kilometres from Bangalore City Junction.

The station is on the east of the Bangalore city. The region grew into a dense suburban and station is close to the busy Krishnarajapuram (KR Puram) station. There are three platforms and four railway tracks at the station. Channasandra railway station is on the Bangalore- Chennai railway line, and no express trains halt at the station daily. Some of the popular trains crossing the station connect to Chennai, Kakinada, Delhi, and other cities. Two passenger trains between Bangalore and Chik Ballapur cross this station daily. The station is built to serve the needs of the residents of the Channasandra region and provide an easy commute to the Bangalore City.

Channasandra Railway station is located at 24 Kilometres from the Bangalore International Airport and is well-connected to the Kempegowda Bus station and Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) buses. The station is near to many tourists’ such as locations Savandurga, Shivagange, Bheemeshwari, and Nandi Hills.
