Overview of Nayandahalli Railway Station – NYH

Nayandahalli Railway Station (codenamed NYH) is located at 7 Kilometres from the busy Bangalore City junction. The station is one of the suburban stations in Bangalore division of the South Western Railway zone. No express trains stop at the Nayandahalli station, but passenger trains between Bangalore and Mysore stop here daily. The railway Station is next to the Jnana Bharati Halt station just 1 kilometre away, 12 Kilometres from Yesvantpur Junction and 30 Kilometres from Whitefield station.

 

The railway station is on the Bangalore – Mysore railway line and often used for intra-city commutation by the locals. Night Queen Passenger runs between Mysore and Bangalore connecting all the railway stations in the region covering a distance of 136 Kilometres. There are no trains originating from Nayandahalli railway station. South Western railways have plans to upgrade the station into a major due to its proximity to the central Bangalore City Junction and can be used as a satellite station in the future.

Bangalore International Airport is positioned close to 39 Kilometres north of Nayandahalli Railway station. The station is also linked to the intra-city buses on the Mysore Road. The station is near to the various tourist locations in the region such as Nandi Hills, Shivagange, Bheemeshwari, and Savandurga.

The station is provided with resting rooms on both the platforms, foot over bridge, ticket counter, small cafeteria, and prepaid parking facility inside the station. There is heavy influx of passengers during the early mornings and late evenings as those living in this region prefer railways to commute to work into the city. In a way, the residents of Nayandahalli treat the station to be the hub for transport services as the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) buses halt at the railway station frequently.
