Overview of Gubbi Railway Station – GBB

Gubbi is a taluka town in Tumkur district of Karnataka and is about 90 km from Bangalore on the Bangalore-Honnavara stretch of the National Highway 206.

Gubbi Railway Station (station code GBB) of the South Western Railway is in the Mysore division. Its neighborhood stations are Nittur and Mallasandra. It is a small station with just one platform. Fourteen trains stop at this station every day, but none of them is an express train. Gubbi is connected with places like Bangalore, Hospet, Shimoga, Hubli, and Arsikere by daily train services.

Gubbi Railway Station has the minimal passenger facilities like ticket booking counter, tea and refreshment stalls, drinking water fountains and toilets.

The food at Gubbi –

Although food of many types is available in Gubbi restaurants, the focus is on authentic South Indian food. This includes the many varieties of dosa, idli and uthappa with sambar and chutney, filter coffee, rice with multiple vegetables and curd during meals, and sheera or paysam as the sweets. Also, non-veg dishes in different styles are popular here.
