This train derives its name ‘Jhelum’ since the river Jhelum is regarded to be a notable river of Jammu and Kashmir. Pune – Jammu Tawi, the up train is provided the number 11077 and down train are numbered 11078.

Arrival / Departure –

Up train that heads for Jammu Tawi is said to leave Pune at about 17:20 hours. The train reaches New Delhi next day around 20:45 hours and at 09:20 hours on third day at Jammu Tawi. Down train tends to leave Jammu Tawi at about 21:45 hours and is said to arrive New Delhi at around 10:00 hours, next morning. It finally reaches at 14:35 the city of Pune on third day.

Therefore, in its long journey, the train passes through states of Maharashtra, MP, U.P, Rajasthan (just a small portion of it), Haryana, Delhi-NCR, Punjab and finally Jammu and Kashmir. Hence, the train traverses a total distance of about 2177 kilometres in just 40 hours.
