Here is a mouth watering list of sweets, which you must try on your next visit to these respective states:

  • Andhra Pradesh – Kubani Ka Meetha – This sweet delicacy is made with apricots and is the sweet pride of the state. Other drooling treats from Andhra Pradesh include Karijalu and Tirupati Ladoo.
  • Assam – Narikol Ladoo – These are yummy coconut covered balls, synonym with the state.

  • Madhya Pradesh – Mawa Bati – This is a tastier version of the Gulab Jamuns stuffed with dry fruits and saffron.
  • Maharashtra – Modak – Modak is the favourite of your beloved Lord Ganesha. These dumplings are stuffed with coconut and jiggery.
  • Orissa – Chhena Poda – This is a dessert made with cheese. You can also try Chhena Jhilli.
  • Tamil Nadu – Pongal – Don’t confuse this dish with the festival. This dish is rice cooked with jiggery, giving you an exotic taste.

  • Jammu & Kashmir – Shufta – Overloaded with dry fruits, this dessert will overload your heart with satisfaction.
  • Jharkhand – Anarsa – Made with lots of sesame seeds and cashew nuts, Anarsa melts your heart.
  • Nagaland – Koat Pitha – Rolls of dough are deep friend and stuffed with jiggery.
  • Mizoram – Chhangban Leh Kurtai – Chhang and bread together make this exquisite dessert with an exotic taste.
  • Arunachal Pradesh – Khapse – This sweet biscuit is made with flour, butter and eggs and gives more energy than a nutrition bar.
