Malleswaram Railway Station (codenamed MWM) is located in the suburban region of the Bangalore city. The station is under the administrative rule of Bangalore division of South Western Railways Zone of Indian Railways. Malleswaram railway station is located at 2 Kilometres from Yesvantpur station, 3 Kilometres from Bangalore City Junction, and 10 Kilometres from Bangalore East Station.<\/p>\n

The station is on the north western region of the Bangalore city. The region grew into a dense suburban and station is one of the satellite station to handle passenger traffic at Bangalore city junction. There are three platforms and four railway tracks at the station. Malleswaram railway station is on the Ahmedabad- Bangalore railway line, and more than seven express trains halt at the station daily. Some of the popular trains crossing the station connect to Mysore, Hubli, Jodhpur, Nanded, Ajmer, and other cities. Many passenger trains between Tumkur, Hospet, Hubli, Shimoga, and Hindupur cross this station daily. The proximity to major stations position the Malleswaram railway station to function as a staging area for express train arrivals or departures.<\/p>\n

Malleswaram Railway station is located at 30 Kilometres from the Bangalore International Airport, and also near the Kempegowda Bus station. The station is near to many tourists\u2019 locations like Savandurga, Shivagange, Bheemeshwari, and Nandi Hills.<\/p>\n

Malleswaram station is developed to provide those living in the region easy access to railway system. Another reason is to decongest the passenger traffic from Yesvantpur station over the last five years. The station is equipped with basic passenger amenities that include waiting halls, computerized ticket reservation counters, book stalls, cafeteria, and prepaid parking area. The region has high population density, and South Western Railways is proposing to increase the passenger trains in this route. This would bring more footfalls to the station in next few years and the station will be further modernized with other advanced facilities.
